4-CMC is also known as 1-​(4-chlorophenyl)-​2-​(methylamino)-​1-​propanone,​ monohydrochloride. Methcathinone is a psychoactive cathinone that inhibits norepinephrine reuptake.1 4-Chloromethcathinone is an analog of methcathinone and has a chlorine atom inserted at the 4 position of the phenyl ring.
